Can you support additional or different banner sizes?
Yes, we can. Our platform is only as limited as the content you make available. Accessibility
Do I have to modify all of my existing content to meet these new accessibility requirements?
No, existing content will not need to be modified to meet these requirements, unless you are making a change or an update to that page/content. Any manual changes to existing pages go through our manual QA process and the QA Team will check and validate if the page meets the requirements before republishing.
The requirements apply to newly created pages or existing pages that are modified. If you have a page/content already live and do not make any edits to the content, it will continue to be syndicated as normal unless a modification is requested by a retail partner in order to be compliant with their website.

My content is created automatically from a feed by 1WS. Do the Accessibility changes apply to these?
It does not immediately apply, as these are complex feeds where development work needs to be with the brand and 1WorldSync. However, we are actively working with feed-based brands and will have a separate timeline and deadline for being compliant.

Why are you making these Accessibility changes?
There are 2 main reasons for us to make these enhancements.
- It will help brand sales to visually / hearing impaired consumers
If you are not including these accessibility elements in your content, you are effectively not presenting the content to visually / hearing impaired consumers. These are essential to ensure that all consumers are benefiting from the rich content provided by your brand, which is known to increase sales substantially in eCommerce.
- Protecting our retail partners
More and more of our retail partners are facing legal challenges for displaying pages that are not accessibility compliant. By ensuring the content we pass to them has met the standards, we lower their risk of legal action against them. Many of the major retailers are also now requiring this and will begin turning off rich content that does not meet their standards.

Campaigns
What are Web Campaigns and Marketing Materials
Web Campaigns are syndicated campaign banners with microsites that launch behind the banner. Unlike the typical banners, it keeps the end-user on your website and does not distract the user by taking them to another site while providing educational material and information to inform the shopper.
Marketing Materials are downloadable assets that are available to use for your own website.

What does ‘syndication’ mean?
The term web 'syndication' describes content shared by two (or more) websites. The host website (Content Menu) provides content via an API code "call". Once a content API call is placed in a website's existing HTML code, the piece of content (banner, microsite, etc) will appear on the website. As long as the API call remains on a website, the syndicated content updates automatically. Using syndication allows product companies to share their marketing resources with their channel partners.

What is your Quality Control process for new content?
Data Integration and Workflow:
Our integration process automatically checks incoming and outgoing files for data integrity, valid html, and custom validations defined by the
specific syndication project. Updates/changes at sku level can be rendered as a report for review. CNET can check for inappropriate content or
text matches however the manufacturer is responsible for the accuracy of the content.
Management of exceptions:
In the event that a large amount of content has changed and requires manual review, using our automated delta check process (review of source files
from delta checks on category and item-level content), a representative sample of content is chosen for human review. Sampling rates are based
upon achieving a reasonable accuracy level that ensures content is properly converted without a high impact to the time required to move the lot
to production. Content selected for sampling is based upon the historical layers of the creation process (before & after), takes into account
any changes in backend code releases, and is reviewed by multiple team members to maximize consistency and minimize any errors related to review
by a single individual. Should the content update exceed the acceptable error threshold, the content is then isolated for review by the QA lead,
and any issues are communicated back to the appropriate internal or external sources for necessary rework and reprocessing.

What happens if the service goes down? Will it affect partner websites?
The service will not provide any performance or visual impact to a website when the service is not available. The ContentCast syndication service is a low risk implementation so that if the servers or services were to ever go down, the service will fail gracefully (quietly) and simply return no content. It will not affect the appearance of your website. No Red X's or broken images will be shown. No errors will become visible to the end-customer or client.

What is the recommended layout for my content?
A good layout is different for every manufacturer but we find that layouts where the images alternate on each side of the page with relevant content near the image are the most compelling. We also find use of video is highly attractive to users, so if available it’s a great asset to include in your syndication. We recommend maximum of 10 images and 5 videos per product to ensure optimized performance. The more assets delivered to the product page will result in slower page load times. If you have products that have hundreds of images and videos per sku, choose the right content that matters. A shopper will not watch 10 videos before they click the buy button.

Indexing Inline Content & Duplicate Content
Is JavaScript Content Indexed: Bing no, Google yes at times.
Per Bing:"The technology used on your website can sometimes prevent Bingbot from being able to find your content. Rich media (Flash, JavaScript, etc.) can lead to Bing not being able to crawl through navigation, or not see content embedded in a webpage. To avoid any issue, you should consider implementing a down-level experience which includes the same content elements and links as your rich version does. This will allow anyone (Bingbot) without rich media enabled to see and interact with your website." - http://www.bing.com/webmaster/help/webmaster-guidelines-30fba23a

In order to solve this problem, we decided to try to understand pages by executing JavaScript. It’s hard to do that at the scale of the current web, but we decided that it’s worth it. Can I include content links to more product information or tools in my product page?
We do not allow outside linking from product pages as this is one of the baseline agreements with our syndication partners that we will not do this. Adding outside content links can lead webtraffic away from a partners' website so any content must be hosted within the page itself.

Can I reference or use hyperlinks or URLs to information on an external site?
Inserting hyperlinks or references to external sites are not permitted within the content you build.
Pages are QA’d and verified before they are published, so any content that contains hyperlinks or externally hosted content will not be published and may delay content going live.

Can I use HTML content when I am building a page?
You can use text that is wrapped in HTML formatting tags (such as bold, italics, line breaks, paragraph breaks), however the only formatting that will be recognized are those that are supported in the portal.
Fonts can only be formatted to italic, bold and underline but the font itself cannot be changed and the default fonts of the retailer site are used. This ensures all the content delivered into the retailer pages are consistent with the look and feel of the site.

What is a carousel?
Carousels are like slideshows, in that they display only a portion of their content at any one time. They are typically content blocks containing images, text or both and can be static or rotating. In either case some content is hidden to be revealed by user action or the rotation script in time.
