ATTENTION: Required Updates for DataSource
September 16, 2022
Action Required: To avoid interruption of services, please update any domain references defined in the document by October 20th, 2022.
Dear Valued Customer,
As CNET Content Solutions merged into a 1WorldSync solution, we’re excited to offer a pathway to leverage new technologies and features as they become available. Over the last 15 months, we’ve integrated CNET applications into the 1WorldSync ecosystem and one final step in this process is transitioning DataSource domains used by our customer base from cnetcontent.com to 1worldsync.com. In order to maintain current functionalities and take advantage of new ones that will be introduced, please update all domain references defined below.
EXTRANET
What is the new domain for the Extranet?
Many of our customers use the Extranet on a daily basis. Old access was via https://extranet.cnetcontentsolutions.com/ or https://extranet.cnetcontent.com/. The new URL to access the Extranet will be https://datasource.cs.1worldsync.com/. Please adjust any bookmarks related to the old domains to reflect the new domain. The new URL is available to use now.
FTP END OF LIFE
What is being phased out?
⚠ Affects both the ContentConnector and customers who access our FTP directly ⚠ |
We are phasing out standard FTP (port 21) in the coming months. To avoid having to make changes to your infrastructure (config files, firewall rules, etc.) again, we strongly suggest that you do one of the following:
FTP
What if I access the FTP site to upload and download data from 1WorldSync?
Please adjust your FTP clients to utilize the new URLs. The new FTP server addresses will be available for use on September 19th.
Old FTP access was via
ftp.cnetcontentsolutions.com
sftp.cnetcontentsolutions.com
janus.cnetdata.com
New URL to access the FTP will be
ftp.cs.1worldsync.com (will be phased out soon, see FTP END OF LIFE)
sftp.cs.1worldsync.com
CONTENTCONNECTOR
What do I do if I use the ContentConnector?
There are two options available for using the ContentConnector solution to access and process Download.zip files.
Option 1 – Adjust the ContentConnector.xml file to use the new domains, No code change is required. To utilize the new domains, the ContentConnector.xml file must be updated:
Here is an example of the change required for one of the HTTPServerURL values.
From
<ExternalDataSetFileHTTP HTTPServerURL=”http://www.cnetcontentsolutions.com/support/datasource/asa/cds_asa.zip”/>
To
<ExternalDataSetFileHTTP HTTPServerURL=”https://contentconnector.cs.1worldsync.com/asa/cds_asa.zip”/>
For a full list of changes required please refer to this document: ContentConnector Config File Changes
Option 2 – Download and Install the Latest Version of the ContentConnector and Implement.
A new version of the ContentConnector (version 2.2.22) utilizing the FTP server and External File utilizing the New Domains are available now. Your current ContentConnector will work without issue until October 20th, 2022.
DIGITAL CONTENT LINKS
How do I handle the change to Digital Content Links?
Effective Immediately, all Digital Content links delivered by 1WorldSync will use the new domain cdn.cs.1worldsync.com
On October 20th, 2022, DataSource Digital Assets using the URLs containing the old domain – cdn.cnetcontent.com – will no longer work.
Two options are available for you to accommodate the new domain URL
- On September 19th, 2022 we will start the distribution of digital assets using the new domain. Between September 19th and October 10th 2022, please update all URL references within your internal databases to replace the old domain with the new domain within the URL for the Digital Content. Scripts to update the cds_DigContent table can be downloaded here, make sure to pick the right one for your specific DBMS.
- Request a full download of your digital assets with the new domain. This will redistribute all digital assets in the download.zip tables which can be used to update your systems. You will be required to request this full download of Digital Assets between now, and the latest October 15th, 2022.
If you opt to request a full download of your digital assets. You can go to the Extranet and check the option “Full Download.zip Digital Content Only (Incremental catalog and Full set of digital content)” this will be scheduled for the next weekend’s distribution cycle or you can email the 1WS Support team if you would like to receive it during the week. The request for a full download of Digital Content is delivered in the overall increment file, so please ensure the current file is processed and you are ready to receive the new file ( remove the dataout.txt file)
