Release 7.2 is the accumulation of many front-end and back-end improvements and updates that will affect how users work within the application. Find out

Reporting & Dashboard
Access Account specific reporting from the Account View page. This will allow you to get reports that are focused on that account and any subsidiaries to that account.

From the account specific report page you can change the company you working with by clicking on the Change Account button in the footer bar.
Under Reports > Accounts > Company page you can now run a report and include the Tax method being applied by the system. Available data will appear in this manner:
Default Tax Rate (calculated with the Tax Profile) = Default
Custom Rate % (from Account settings) = [rate#]%)
Tax Exempt Tax ID# (from Account settings) = ID# [insert_ID#]
Sales > Mfr Part # & Manufacturer
- GP% and Profit
- Line level custom fields
- Added a contract # column to the Sales and Mfr # reports
Sales > Top Sellers
Updated Top Sellers improvements
- Select tops seller amounts in increments (5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, & 500)
- Select Report type: Mfr Part #, SalesRep, Account Manager, Company, Manufacturer, & Supplier.
- Select from Profit Amount, Total Amount or Quantity sold for dashboard graphs.
Sales > Suppliers
Updated supplier reports to accommodate the new suppler cost markup feature with column selections for: True GP%, True Cost, and True Profit.

Customer and Supplier RMAs
Updated RMA reporting in the following ways:
- Created new Mfr Part # reporting
- Includes line level details including reason codes captured on the RMA.
- Enhanced customer RMAs to include more amount options like Profit, GP, Tax, Freight and Handling Fees.
- Enhanced supplier RMAs to include more amount options like Profit, GP, Tax, Freight and Handling Fees.
GENERAL NOTES:
Custom fields for documents and line level information are now available on all sales reports where appropriate.
Document links are only available in the Sales report section.
The Report Date column select is now called Date Type and will reflect the date type filter being used at the top of the page to run the report.
Reports can be exported in the following formats by clicking on the export button in the footer:
- csv (comma delimited)
- txt (tab delimited)
- xlsx
- xls
Eliminated placeholder commas present in the Serial Numbers column when running Sales report by Mfr. Part #.
SalesRep reports include Both Fright Cost and Profit amounts.
Dashboards
Building upon last release’s dashboard improvements, tracking documents, sales reps and managers, suppliers and manufacturers is easier with the new reporting upgrades. You can now expand charts (except for the table type) into a popup lightbox for better visibility. Plus, chart titles are clearly labeled to indicate if it is for the single active user or all users.
Add reports to your dashboard.
- Select a date range
- Select an account
- View by Summary
- Then Graph by Line
- Subtotal (select best one)
- Then plot by Amount
- Save report
- Go to My Preferences
- In the General section, select the Edit button
- Select a dashboard to edit
- In a blank component spot, hit the Plus icon to add components
- Find your new report in the available reports and save
- Select Save and Exit to see your report on the dashboard
Document Updates
Document Attachments
Two methods are now available for attaching files to sales documents (Quote, Sales Order, Invoice and Proposal) in ChannelOnline.
1) The existing ability to attach external documents via links with an assigned link name.
2) The NEW ability to upload a document into ChannelOnline with a document for later retrieval. This new feature allows you to:
- upload and name a file to associate with a document.
- retrieve the document for download or view from the document view in ChannelOnline
- support for these format types .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .html, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .ppt
- External Files – This is the existing ability to attach files hosted outside of ChannelOnline via links with an assigned link name onto a document.
- Attach Files – The NEW ability to upload a file that is associated with a document into ChannelOnline for later retrieval. This new feature allows
you to:- Upload and name a file to associate with a document
- Retrieve the document for download or view from the document view in ChannelOnline
- Support for these format types: .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .pdf, .txt, .rtf, .html, .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .ppt
Manual Line Items
Force users to select a valid category (not Additional Products) and manufacturer (not Unknown Manufacturer) when creating manual line items. Users will be required to make a selection before they can Save, Save and Add New Line, or go to the next or previous lines. To enable this rule go to Company Settings > Documents > Misc section.
Fixed an issue where manual line item default category and manufacturer would disappear after saving.
GENERAL NOTES
- Added the line level calculator feature to the Standard Plus page.
Pricing
Supplier markups to cost
This feature allows you as a reseller to add a markup to the cost you get from the supplier, this markup is applied before the price profile markup on an item. Certain users will have the ability to see costs with this markup applied and/or see what we are calling true cost (or the cost w/o the markup). Here’s an example:
- Cost = $500
- TD markup 2% = $510 (or landed cost)
- PP 10% = $561 (price to customer)
Accounts
Activity Log Entries
Activity log for customer entries is similar to what we have for documents to track activity around the account, such as deletions, changing of Account
Managers, and merges. With this release, we introduce logging for the following events:
- Contact adds, edits, and deletes
- Payment option changes
- Default billing and shipping address adds, edits, and deletes
- Account Manager changes
- Account merging into another account
- Catalog changes
- Price Profile changes

- Catalog and price files and realtime P&A
Essendant (Azerty) Feed
Modified the credentials and field information provided by Essendant for product and pricing files.

Easy Search Features:
- Product Search – Search products and pricing available to ASCII members with full specifications and images
- Product Comparisons – Use the detailed specifications to do side by side comparisons of up to four products.
- Product Selectors – Product Selectors are available for Memory, Battery & Power, and Ink & Toner
- Organizer – ability to create user notes and tasks
- Favorites – Save products to your favorites list for quick retrieval
Additional Improvements
- Company settings:
- Messaging is now in its own sub-tab in the company settings and uses a html text editor for formatting global messages.
- Documents layout updates with expanding sections
- New settings sub-tabs
- Credit amount updates in Payment Options can now set for either the maximum amount (credit limit) or for the available remaining amount (available credit) on the account edit page. To assist in this action there are now two checkboxes; one for setting the limit, and another for setting current available credit amount.
- Updated the controller and tracking of the status on an exporting sales report in the reports section.
- Create one note or task after another by using the Save and New button on the Organizer edit page.
- When using XML to add or update quotes you can now specify a default shipping and/or billing address in the XML request.
- To help users Manage Tags (located in Company Settings) and see the whole structure in place we have added an expand and collapse button at the top that will expand all tag hierarchies.
Bug Fixes
- Rectified an issue on POs where items to update serial and tracking through the sales order XML transaction.
- Removing a tracked lead from Dashboard through the Update button
- Ability to use the arrow down function to get to a pre-populated result in the top search bar as you type.
- Updated sales reports showing Unknown Manufacturer for know manufacturers that was caused by copying docs that had bad information associated with them.
- Implemented handling to eliminate the rare cases where duplicate POs were being submitted to Tech Data.
- Corrected an issue where changing the shipping address caused a tax rate warning even when the tax rate was the same.
- Issue where in a proposal totals were breaking into 2 lines, the dollar sign ($), and the dollar amount beneath it.
- Canadian reseller’s tax exempt accounts will no longer display the default tax rate when new quotes are created.
- Using XML retrieval of an RMA document you can now get the text field entry for the RMA reason code Other.
- Worked with ScanSource to fixed an issue with quantities not updating properly on catalog import files.
- Auto saving was not capturing changes made while editing a line if you clicked on the product description to view the product page.
